Anoushka Shankar Anoushka Shankar, an Indian-born British American artist and a sitarist, is most well-known for her music. She received the British House of Commons' Shield as the youngest, and the first female to receive it. Alongside receiving nine Grammy nominations and nine Grammy nominations, she also became the very first Indian-origin musician to perform during the ceremony live. Anoushka shankar is one of India's rising stars in the sitar. She's the daughter of Ravi Shankar and a former student. Her birthplace was in London in 1982. Anoushka Shankar was born and raised in England and spent a lot of her early years in London and Delhi then moving to California in the state where she attended high school. at the age of nine She began studying the piano with her father. Her debut performance on the Sitar was in her 75th birthday celebration in Delhi in the year following. Anoushka, who accompanied her father on his worldwide tour, gained an impressive quantity of knowledge. In her teenage years she played at Carnegie Hall as part of Peter Gabriel's WOMAD and even recorded with George Harrison. The youngest female to be awarded the House of Commons Shield, given by the British Parliament to recognize her musicianship and artistry in music and the Asian Arts.
